Young and Singles Conference Ends on High Note at Day Spring Gospel Center International

The 2026 Young and Singles Conference of Day Spring Gospel Center International concluded with a grand Thanksgiving Service after a week of spiritually enriching, intellectually stimulating, and socially impactful activities aimed at empowering young people for purposeful living and kingdom service.

The annual conference commenced with a camp meeting that featured a series of life-changing seminars, lectures, counseling sessions, and prayer meetings. Participants engaged in intensive intercessory prayers for Nigeria and its youth population while also receiving practical teachings on personal development and financial literacy.

One of the major highlights of the camp meeting was a financial empowerment session where guest speakers with extensive knowledge in finance educated participants on money management, investments, stocks, and treasury bills. The sessions provided valuable insights into wealth creation and responsible financial stewardship.

The conference culminated in a colourful Thanksgiving Service held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the church headquarters, Jesus House, Day Spring Gospel Center International.

The event was formally opened by the Master of Ceremony, who kept the audience engaged through his vibrant presentation, humor, and excellent coordination of proceedings.

Attendees were treated to energetic performances by the church youth dance group, whose captivating choreography drew applause from the congregation. The church's Native Choir later joined the dancers on stage, blending traditional cultural expressions with contemporary dance styles in a display that celebrated both faith and heritage.

A major attraction of the event was a panel discussion on "Career, Passion and Purpose," moderated by the Youth President of the church alongside three distinguished panelists. The discussion examined the relationship and distinctions among career, passion, and purpose, offering participants practical guidance on navigating life's journey.

One of the panelists, Who shared his personal experience, explaining how his passion for football helped him discover his purpose in life. Other panelists also contributed diverse perspectives, enriching the conversation.

The discussion reached a meaningful conclusion with the intervention of the church matriarch, Mrs. Arojie, who synthesized the various viewpoints into a comprehensive and balanced summary that resonated with the audience.

The conference also featured a drama presentation by the youth drama group. Through a compelling theatrical performance, the group delivered a powerful message urging young people to shun immorality, youthful lusts, and the culture of instant gratification while embracing godliness, faithfulness, and holiness.

Adding to the excitement was a special ministration by the Youth Choir, whose melodious rendition of songs captivated worshippers. Supported by skilled instrumentalists, including drummers, keyboardists, and guitarists, the choir delivered an inspiring musical performance that lifted the atmosphere of worship.

The climax of the event was the keynote message delivered by the Founder of Day Spring Gospel Center International, Rev. Dr. Phil Arojie, titled "Young Stewards of the Kingdom."

Drawing his message from 1 Timothy 4:12, Acts 13:1-2, 1 Peter 5:14, and 1 Samuel 17:34-35, Rev. Arojie challenged young people to remain faithful in their walk with God and to avoid the pitfalls of youthful exuberance.

He described as a misconception the popular belief that young people are merely the leaders of tomorrow, stressing that Scripture provides numerous examples of youths whom God used mightily in their generation, including David, Joseph, Timothy, and Titus.

According to him, the hallmarks of effective kingdom stewardship are faithfulness, accountability, purity, commitment, and availability.

"The future belongs to young people who choose kingdom service over selfishness and purpose over pleasure," he said.

He encouraged participants to dedicate their talents and gifts to God, remain steadfast despite prevailing economic challenges, and trust God for divine favour, promotion, and open doors.

The cleric further emphasized the importance of holiness, accountability, integrity, and mentorship. He advised young people to seek godly mentors, remain teachable, and develop strong character traits that would prepare them for leadership and service.

Rev. Arojie also urged youths not to allow failures to define them.

"Failure is not your identity. It is only a phase in life's journey," he said.

He concluded by encouraging young people to live lives of integrity so they can become valuable assets to both the Church and society.

The conference ended with a colourful Thanksgiving procession as youths, dressed in matching vibrant attire, danced joyfully to the altar to appreciate God for a successful conference and the opportunity to witness another edition of the annual Young and Singles Conference.

Participants described the conference as impactful, transformative, and spiritually enriching, expressing gratitude for the lessons learned and the renewed commitment to purposeful living and kingdom stewardship.
