Benin, Edo – THE Neo Black Movement of Africa (NBMofAfrica) have condemned the killing of officers and soldiers attached to the 181 Amphibious Battalion in Bomadi Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State.

The Pan-African Organization described the killing of the military personnel as “barbaric, gruesome and unacceptable.”

This was contained in a statement issued last Thursday by the organization's Public Relations Office, Mr. Ajibo Sam-Brown, in Benin City, the Edo state capital.

“As a Pan-African Organization, we the entire well-meaning Nigerians, join men and women of our armed forces to mourn and express our profound grief over the needless death of our gallant soldiers and officers.

“We extend our profound condolences to the families of these fallen soldiers and officers, their colleagues, and their loved ones.", the statement partly read

According to NBM, it is greatly disturbed by the violence and unprovoked killing of the soldiers and officers, describing it as despicable and alien to the cultural heritage of Africa.

It added, “This incident is despicable and not in sync with the culture and tradition of Nigerians and by extension Africans. It runs contrary to the values and path of peace that we are promoting.

“We urge the Nigerian government to as a matter of urgency take measures necessary to fish out all those behind this dastardly act and ensure they are made to face the full wrath of the law. The cowardly offenders responsible for this heinous crime should not go unpunished.

“We further call for a holistic investigation to unearth the remote causes of the crisis and urge both the Delta State and Federal Governments to urgently intervene to prevent it from escalating.”
