Abeokuta, Ogun – The Ogun State Government has announced its intent to prosecute popular Nigerian entertainer and social media personality Ademola Abiodun, widely known as DJ Chicken, following a series of reckless driving incidents that have raised serious public safety concerns.

The decision, detailed in a press release issued by the Ogun State Ministry of Justice Monday, marks a significant escalation in the legal response to the entertainer's alleged vehicular misconduct.

The first incident occurred on November 1, 2025, in Sagamu, Ogun State, where DJ Chicken allegedly crashed into two motorcycles, resulting in serious injuries to a rider and a female passenger.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that the entertainer showed no remorse and attempted to flee the scene, prompting an angry mob to intervene. The Ogun State Police Command promptly initiated an investigation while prioritizing the medical care and privacy of the victims.

Just yesterday, November 23, 2025, DJ Chicken was involved in yet another road crash in Lekki, Lagos State. This lone-vehicle incident saw his car collide with a roadside barrier, narrowly avoiding harm to pedestrians due to their quick reflexes.

Reports indicate this marks the third such incident involving the entertainer in the past two months, fueling public outrage and calls for stricter action.

In a decisive move, Ogun State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed officials to expedite the prosecution of DJ Chicken for the Sagamu incident.

The Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the Police, aims to arraign the entertainer promptly, citing his repeated reckless behavior as a "special danger to society."

The press release emphasized that video evidence from at least two of the crashes provides clear documentation of his actions, justifying the state's intervention to protect the public.

DJ Chicken, a rising star in Nigeria's entertainment scene, has previously garnered attention for his vibrant online presence. However, his recent driving incidents have overshadowed his career, with the Lekki crash reigniting scrutiny over his road habits.

The Sagamu incident, in particular, had already drawn significant public backlash, with calls for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to intervene.

The prosecution of DJ Chicken could set a precedent for handling reckless driving cases in Nigeria, where road safety remains a pressing concern.

Legal experts suggest to DAILY South Nigeria that the state may pursue charges under criminal law, given the severity of the injuries and the pattern of behavior, alongside potential civil claims for compensation by the victims.
