Police launches manhunt for fleeing suspect

Port Harcourt, Rivers – The police force in Rivers State's capital, Port Harcourt, has initiated an extensive manhunt for a suspect, Obi Ikechukwu Victor, who evaded capture on February 14, 2024.

‎The suspect, along with his partner, Chineye Ugbo who is currently standing trial at the Diobu Area Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt, were allegedly apprehended during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Government Reservation Area, possessing incriminating pornographic materials that unequivocally indicated their involvement in illicit sexual activities.

‎A police statement from Port Harcourt revealed that the two men were intercepted around 9:30 PM on February 14, 2024, by a police team conducting a routine patrol in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) sector of the city.
‎
‎Their mobile devices were examined, revealing explicit videos featuring the two men.
‎
‎During the interrogation regarding their participation in homosexual activities, one of the individuals, Obi Ikechukwu Victor, managed to escape under the veil of night.
‎
‎His partner provided a voluntary statement containing valuable information. Detectives are diligently pursuing this lead with the aim of apprehending the fugitive suspect for potential prosecution.
‎
‎The police have appealed to members of the public for any pertinent information that could facilitate his capture, urging them to report to the nearest police station both within and outside Rivers State.

‎If convicted, both men face up to 14 years in prison.
