The Neo–Black Movement of Africa (NBM of Africa) has faulted the rivers state police command, for linking the pan African organization to Black Axe and July 7 founder's day celebration.
The organization described as "misleading", a statement issued on Saturday by the command's spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, that was widely reported in the media.
“We have received information about the Neo-Black Movement (NBM), also known as Aiye or Black Axe, which plans to hold a nationwide commemoration in honour of their Founder’s day.", Iringe-Koko said in the statement
However, the non-governmental organization described the police statement yesterday, a misinformation to garner undue support from members of the public.
"Can you stop misleading and misinforming the public. Stop using NBM to chase clout. Your earlier post is a defamation of character & libelous.", The organization posted on it X account, on Sunday.
BENDEL Mirror recalled that the National Public Relations Officer, Ajibo Sam-Brown had earlier in a statement issued on July 1, 2024, dissociated NBM of Africa from any event on the said 'July 7' or the name, 'Black Axe'.
“July 7th (7/7)” as acclaimed by the enemies of the NBM of Africa founding date is false and not recognised by the Pan-Africanist group”.
“NBM of Africa is an Organisation that has all its activities documented, promotes peace and condemns in its entirety illegality”.
“And in the history of NBM of Africa, there is no place where JULY 7 was documented as founders day; hence it is a misnomer for any group of persons to ascribe NBM of Africa to that date, and also NBM of Africa is not Black Axe. NBM of Africa has no relationship with Black Axe, NBM of Africa disassociate itself from the name “Black Axe”, the statement partly read
