NPFL MD 10: Bendel Insurance record first away win with 2-1 victory against Sunshine Stars

Bendel Insurance Football Club on Sunday, November 3,2024 defeated Sunshine Stars of Akure 2-1 in the Match Day 10 of the Nigeria Premier Football League to record their first away win in two seasons.

Kayode Oke broke the deadlock for the Benin Arsenals in the 17th minute of play to boost his side's confidence as a team desperate to bounce back to winning ways after losing away and first home loss of the season in the last two weeks.

Recall that Bendel Insurance suffered first home loss of the season to Abia Warriors in the Match Day 9 encounter in Benin last weekend after a 3-0 defeat at Ikorodu City in Lagos.

The Owena Wales fought back and leveled up a minute to the end of first half of the game through Sodiq Ibrahim (44) but Nnamdi Anthony restored Insurance lead with a sublime strike in the 60th minute which sealed the victory for Insurance FC.

The Benin Arsenals, with the Ijebu-Ode victory have recorded their first away victory in two seasons.
