Delta ultimatum against unauthorized engagement of Artisans in Asaba ends Friday

Asaba, Delta – The Delta State Government has issued a five-day ultimatum starting from Monday 18th of November to Friday 22nd November 2024 midnight to individuals engaging artisans in unauthorized areas within the Asaba metropolis, including Akpu Junction, Koka Interchange, Ibusa Road, Okpanam Road, Ibusa Junction, and Summit Mariam Babangida by the expressway.

According to the state government, these activities must cease immediately, or violators will face arrests and strict enforcement measures.

This directive was communicated in an official statement signed by the Chairman of the Delta State Taskforce on Environment, Chief Godspower Asiuwhu JP.

He emphasized that the government has provided a designated site at Oko for all registered artisans, and residents requiring their services are encouraged to utilize centre, which has been organized for efficiency and order.

The government’s action is part of broader efforts to combat crime, enhance security, and maintain a peaceful environment for Deltans and residents. Chief Asiuwhu warned that artisans found operating in the unauthorized areas mentioned will face immediate apprehension and penalties.

The Delta State Government urges all residents to comply with this directive, which aligns with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, aimed at ensuring security, order, and sustainable development for the state.
