Ambitious Crown FC Begin Super 8 Campaign in Asaba

Asaba, Delta – Crown FC have assembled in Asaba to kick off preparations for the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoffs, which run from 5–12 July at Stephen Keshi Stadium.

The eight teams are neck and neck, each vying for one of four promotion slots into the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for 2025/26.

The Ogbomoso side secured their spot with a dramatic 2–1 away win over Ijele FC on matchday 21 of the Southern Conference, as confirmed last month. Head coach Alexander Ayodeji Ayeni rallied the squad, urging players, fans and Oyo State officials to unite behind the team ahead of the crucial playoffs.

NNL chairman George Aluo, alongside Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, guaranteed top-notch logistics and fair playing conditions for all teams. He promised supporters thrilling action, with four deserving sides from across both conferences set for promotion.

Asaba’s selection as host underscores the region’s growing influence in national sports, and the week-long contest promises to be a defining moment for Crown FC and their rivals.
