RSIEC to unveil Rivers local government election timetable

Port Harcourt, Rivers – The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) is set to unveil the revised timetable and guidelines for the 2025 Local Government Elections in the state.
In a notice signed by the Chairman of the commission, Dr. Michael Ekpali Odey, stakeholders have been invited to a general meeting on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the RSIEC Headquarters in Port Harcourt.
The meeting, which is scheduled to start promptly at 2:00 pm, will bring together leaders of registered political parties, traditional rulers, security agencies, religious organizations, media representatives, professional bodies, civil society groups, non-governmental organizations, community-based groups, and the electorate.
According to the notice, the highlight of the meeting will be the unveiling of the revised timetable and guidelines for the elections.
