Man kills brother in Ondo

Odigbo, Ondo – A man, identified as Daniel, has killed his brother, Emmanuel, in Onigbara river area of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State during an argument.

The tragic incident, which has thrown the community into confusion and mourning, occurred Monday evening during altercation between the two brothers.

A resident of the community, who pleaded anonymity, said the reason for the incident could not be ascertained.

“Till now, we don’t know what actually transpired between them that could have led him to kill his brother,” the resident said.

Further findings also revealed that the brothers are sons of a community police officer, popularly known as Awilo.

The spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command and a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone.

The Police Public Relations Officer said: “The Commissioner of Police has ordered the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigative Department (SCID), Akure for further and thorough investigation.”
