Humanitarian ministry's website keeps Yilwatda as minister months after APC leadership shift

A discrepancy has emerged on the official website of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, which continues to present Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as the incumbent minister despite his elevation to the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Professor Yilwatda was appointed as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in October 2024, following the exit of Dr. Betta Edu.
However, less than a year later, he was elected as the APC National Chairman during the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on 24 July 2025. This marks a gap of roughly nine months between his assumption of the ministerial role and his transition to party leadership.
Despite this development, Daily South Nigeria observed that the ministry’s website has yet to reflect the change, with Yilwatda still listed under the “Honourable Minister” category.
This anomaly undermines institutional credibility and risks misleading the public about the ministry’s current leadership structure.
