Benin, Edo – In a decisive and commendable move to restore peace and security, the Edo State Government under Governor Monday Okpebholo has activated Special Criminal Court 1, which officially began operations on July 1, 2026, in Benin City.

The establishment of the court follows a formal request by Governor Okpebholo to the Chief Judge of Edo State, Justice Daniel Okungbowa.
